KSA ranked 6th Globally in E-Government Development

According to the 2024 United Nations e-government survey, Saudi Arabia ranks 6th globally, 2nd among G20 nations, and 3rd in Asia in e-government development. As such, Saudi Arabia’s rank has climbed an astounding 25 places, which is contributed to the development of the sector according to the country’s Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia has also risen 53 spots on the Telecommunications Infrastructure Index since the introduction of Vision 2030 in 2016. Furthermore, the nation has improved its standing on the Online Service Index by 67 places and moved up 31 spots on the Human Capital Index to take fourth place internationally this year.

The Yesser program in KSA was established to provide easy-to-use government e-services for individuals and businesses. It includes e-services to 164 government agencies. When it comes to commerce in the KSA, the Meras program is an e-services platform aimed at businesses. It allows for a one-stop-shop to establish new businesses, and in some cases, set-up can take one working day.

Published every two years, the UN e-government survey is considered the most significant set of indicators in its field. It provides a comprehensive survey of all 193 nations in three areas; online service index, human capital index, and telecommunication infrastructure index.
