NEOM and Maysalward Launch NEOM Game Dev Challenge

NEOM, the ambitious global project in northwest Saudi Arabia, has partnered with Maysalward, a pioneering Middle East mobile game studio, to introduce the NEOM Game Dev Challenge.

This exciting initiative aims to empower the next generation of Saudi game developers, starting in Riyadh. The program targets students aged 15 to 17 and aligns with Vision 2030’s goals to diversify the economy by establishing Saudi Arabia as a regional game development hub.

Maysalward, renowned for its mobile gaming innovations, will mentor students, offering hands-on experience and insights into the global gaming industry. In 2022, Pocket Gamer recognized Maysalward as a top 30 developer and publisher in the Middle East and North Africa. In 2023, the founder of Maysalward received the prestigious Mobile Game Legend award.

The NEOM Game Dev Challenge aligns with Maysalward’s commitment to education and innovation, offering students a unique blend of hands-on experience and academic enrichment to accelerate Saudi Arabia’s mobile gaming landscape.

Students will receive exclusive mentorship from the Maysalward team, gaining technical guidance and insights into the global gaming market. The program concludes with an award ceremony in Riyadh in December, where the winning team’s school will be granted a NEOM Gaming Mini-Lab, fostering innovation in Saudi Arabia’s mobile game development industry.
